Like the outdoors but also want to improve your Spanish or English?
This group combines both so you can instead of attending two different groups or Meetups, you can attend one.
The Walk
The walk will be around Town Lake on Saturday or Sunday mornings. It should be a relatively easy hike and we plan on going at a moderate pace (2.5-3mph). The walks will be of varying length, but around 3 miles in length.
English/Spanish Language Exchange
I've been to Spanish Meetups in the past. The ones that I like the best were the ones that were "intercambios." At these events, half the time was spent talking in Spanish and the other half in English. The idea is to help both groups of people learn their desired language better.
The Problem
Unfortunately, my Spanish is mediocre at best. Hopefully we'll have people who join the group that are good at both English and Spanish. At worst, if we don't actually have people that can speak both languages, it will be a hiking group.
Who is the group for?
Anyone who wants to hike around Town Lake whether you want to learn another language or not is welcome to join. However, people of all levels of Spanish fluency are invited and hopefully we can learn together. Friendly dogs are also welcome.

¿Te gusta la naturaleza pero también quieres mejorar tu español o inglés?
Este grupo combina ambas cosas, así que en lugar de asistir a dos grupos o encuentros diferentes, puedes unirte a uno solo.
La caminata
La caminata será alrededor del lago Town Lake los sábados o domingos por la mañana. Será una caminata relativamente fácil y planeamos ir a un ritmo moderado (4-5 km/h). Las caminatas tendrán una duración variable, pero de aproximadamente 5 kilómetros.
Intercambios de inglés/español
He asistido a encuentros de español en el pasado. Los que más me gustaron fueron los de "intercambio". En estos eventos, la mitad del tiempo se hablaba en español y la otra mitad en inglés. La idea es ayudar a ambos grupos a aprender mejor el idioma que desean.
El problema
Desafortunadamente, mi español es, en el mejor de los casos, mediocre. Espero que se unan al grupo personas que dominen tanto el inglés como el español. En el peor de los casos, si no hay personas que hablen ambos idiomas, será simplemente un grupo de senderismo.
¿Para quién es este grupo?
Cualquiera que quiera caminar alrededor del lago Town Lake, ya sea que quiera aprender otro idioma o no, es bienvenido. Sin embargo, invitamos a personas de todos los niveles de español y esperamos poder aprender juntos. Los perros amigables también son bienvenidos.
