Content Strategy for Conversational Devices
Details
Presentation: The history of conversational interfaces and natural language processing is a story of fits and stalled attempts. Only within the last few years have true spoken-language interfaces become a reality. But the way that users talk to computers is unlike anything else — Making a spoken request of a computer is like neither human-to-human directed speech, nor is it merely a spoken version of text-based conversational input. Integrating with conversational UIs like Alexa, Siri, Google Home isn't simply on the horizon for content strategy, it's already in front of us.
Speaker: Doug Bigham is a content specialist with Four Kitchens, a digital strategy firm specializing in multi-channel content distribution. Doug has a Ph.D. in Linguistics with a focus on how young adults use language in digital spaces and on connected devices. He has worked with all kinds of content—from the early days of streaming radio, to blogs and digital magazines, to fully interactive learning and research repositories for higher ed. @dsbigham
