What we’re about

KnightPals is Austin’s weekly open-air chess gathering for players of all ages and skill levels. Every Thursday at 7:00 PM, we meet at the picnic tables in Pease Park (1100 Kingsbury St) for a relaxed evening of strategy, conversation, and community. Whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or a seasoned player refining your openings, you’ll find a welcoming group ready to sit down for a match.

Our setting under the oaks of Pease Park offers a laid-back, social environment where competition and camaraderie go hand in hand. Games range from casual, friendly matches to more competitive showdowns for those who like to test their skills. You can bring your own board, or use one of ours—there’s always a seat open for a new player.

Beverages are available for sale on-site, so you can enjoy a cold drink as you play or spectate. Many members stay late to analyze games, swap tips, and enjoy the Austin evening together.
Whether you’re looking to meet fellow chess enthusiasts, get better at the game, or just unwind outdoors, KnightPals is the perfect midweek tradition. Join us this Thursday at 7 PM and make your next move—at Pease Park with KnightPals.
