Happy Horror Hour - Grief through the Horror Lens ๐๐ฅบ๐ฑ

Details
Yup, this one will be a bit heavy. Buckle in. ๐
I've been on a personal journey lately with grief after experiencing a significant loss. (I will not be delving into my personal life at this event, but tackling loss and grief as broader topics when it comes to horror movies.)
I've been especially interested in watching horror films as a means to process grief. It may be odd, but horror films as an expression of grief have been some of my favorite films because they have been the most meaningful to me. (Yes, I also very much like to watch a masked man run around the woods chopping up teens. We are all complex creatures!)
The films on the Watch List are ones I've seen multiple times, and you've probably seen some of them at least once. I'll be rewatching these films for the discussion, but if you remember enough of them to talk about them, you can skip the rewatch. However, I have not seen the movies on the Bonus list so I'll be watching those as fresh watches.
What should you expect from this event? A more serious discussion about the topic of grief and how horror movies accurately (or inaccurately) depict it. It will be a deeper discussion, but not depressing. We'll have a drink and share our thoughts.

HOW HAPPY HORROR HOUR WORKS
Before the event โฆ
- Watch the movies from the Watch List at home on your own. We do not watch movies at the actual event. Think of it like a book club. It's not a requirement to watch all the movies on the Watch List to attend. However, watching at least a few is highly encouraged as you'll have a lot more fun during the discussion.
- If you have content sensitivities, you can look up movies on doesthedogdie.com and/or unconsentingmedia.org to review warnings.
- Keep your RSVP up-to-date. If you can't make it out, update your RSVP at least 24 hours beforehand. If there is a waitlist, attendance will be taken and "no shows" will be marked.
At the event โฆ
- Weโre a friendly welcoming bunch and we love new folks! ๐
- Please purchase something (even if just a soda) while youโre at the restaurant. Theyโre running a business but being super awesome by giving us a space to meet for free. Also, please tip our servers. Weโre a big bunch to wrangle.
