**Have you heard? Gremlins 3 is in the works!**

June 8th, 1984, was a date that welcomed a whole generation of kids into the wonderful world of horror by exposing them to not one, but two family-friendly horror classics: Ghostbusters and Gremlins (yes, Gremlins came out in the middle of summer). I was 6 years old and that summer changed my life. What a time to be alive! I've been a horror fan ever since.

Since it's the holidays, and Gremlins is a Christmas classic, let's watch it! And while we're at it, let's watch the sequel and a few more "little monster" movies that sprang up in the wake of it's success.

Gremlins was such a smash hit, that several filmmakers tried to recapture the magic with little monster movies of their own. The late 80s were rife with these films. Titles such as Critters, Ghoulies, Munchies, Hobgoblins, and more, littered the shelves of local video stores.

Now, Critters I'll speak up for. It's entirely it's own thing. Supposedly the script was written long before Gremlins came out. Without the success of Gremlins, however, it might never have seen the light of day. And Ghoulies is just stupid fun.

So what do you say? Let's watch these little creatures get into all kinds of horrific mischief!

**Before the event …**

* **Watch the movies from the Watch List at home on your own.** We do not watch movies at the actual event. Think of it like a book club. It's not a requirement to watch all the movies on the Watch List to attend. However, watching at least a few is highly encouraged as you'll have a lot more fun during the discussion.

* **Keep your RSVP up-to-date.** If you can't make it out, update your RSVP at least 24 hours beforehand. If there is a waitlist, attendance will be taken and "no shows" will be marked.
