These states of attention are the building blocks of all consciousness. When you learn and practice them you can:
*shift out of troublesome emotions when you need to stay calm or get perspective
*motivate yourself more easily, without beating yourself up
*enjoy life more when you wish to just relax and enjoy the beauty of the world
*notice your own internal experience and how it affects your behaviors
