In July 1895, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson receive an audacious letter from the legendary French gentleman thief Arsene Lupin. The thief threatens to steal five of England's most prized treasures in order to humble the "vanity" of the English. Lupin embeds a riddle teasing what his first crime will be.

**An alternate title** for the book **is** **Arsene Lupin vs Herlock Sholmes** by **Maurice Leblanc** and that title is the **ebook for APL**.
