The Austin Python Meetup Monthly Meetup

Details

Our August meetup will cover some items in the latest release 3.7 release of Python!

Tipton Cole will speak about two of the new features. The first is that it is an official part of the language spec for dictionaries to be order-preserving. This may seem a minor thing at first, but there is some significance to this. The second is that modules now support getattr() and dir(), maybe things like lazy loading and module deprecation much easier.

Dustin Ingram will then take up the mantle of presenting a "level-headed talk about PEP 572", which introduced an assignment operator to Python, and some of the fallout from it.

I would once again encourage everyone to PLEASE update their RSVP information so we can have accurate headcount for beer and pizza.

Also, as a heads-up, the Capital Factory is no longer offering discounted parking in the Omni garage, so if you park there, expect to pull the full rate.
