-----------
Talk 1: Pete Zaitcev - Python in OpenStack Swift

Summary:
OpenStack Swift is a project that delivers an object server, with an
interface broadly similar to Amazon S3. Swift is written in Python,
and is used by a number of organizations such as cellphone
companies, governments, and technology companies.

Because Swift moves data by itself, or is a "data plane" service,
its implementation focuses on performance. In this talk we
consider how the code supporting largest clusters in the world
is put together using Python.

Presenter:
Pete Zaitcev is a programmer at Red Hat, Inc., a subsidiary of IBM.
He worked on OS kernels for 20 years before tackling the challenge
of cloud storage in 2010.

Talk 2: Jacob Barhak - ClinicalUnitMapping.Com Takes a Small Step Towards Machine Comprehension of Clinical Trial Data

Session:
Clinical Trial data is not standardized and numerical data cannot be comprehended since the units are not standardized. ClinicalUnitMapping.com is a web tool constructed to help standardize this data and merge it with the following standards and specifications: UCUM, RTMMS / IEEE 11073-10101, BIOUO, and CDISC. IEEE 11073-10101 - Adapted and reprinted with permission from IEEE. Copyright IEEE 2019. All rights reserved.
The intention is to unify unit standards and machine learning tools, so that clinical trials data would become machine comprehensible.

Presenter:
Jacob Barhak Is an independent Computational Disease Modeler focusing on machine comprehension of clinical data. He is one of the organizers of the Austin Python meetup.
