Talks: Vincent (Jiahua Zhou): Spotpredator: An off-grid, AI-powered early-warning system for the farm predators

Description: SpotPredator is an AI detector that runs entirely on its own — no WiFi, no power grid, no subscriptions. Built on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W with a Camera Module 3, it scans the surroundings, runs a custom-trained YOLO11-nano model right on the device to spot predators like Texas coyotes, foxes, and raptors, and radios an instant alert to the user over long-range LoRa radio.

Bio: Vincent (Jiahua Zhou), a full-stack software developer who loves learning new things the hard way — by building them. This project pushed him into AI, electronics, 3D modeling, and 3D printing for the first time, he is excited to keep expanding into the AI & hardware side of tech.
