We typically have a main presentation or a series of lightning talks, followed by discussion and Q&A. There is a diversity of domains and experience levels represented, so come with your questions and be prepared to talk about how you use Python!

This time we are focusing on KubeFlow and Machine Learning with two talks:

Talk 1 - Model Deployment by Mohamed Elsaied:
Machine Learning (ML) popularity have exploded in the last few years, but the sad fact is that most of the ML models are not deployed due to many challenges, such as scalability, inference time, reproducibility, and secured infrastructure.

In this talk, we will discuss how we are deploying models now using machine learning using Cloud Native technologies and pipelines like Airflow and TFX and discuss why did we feel the need to move to a end-to-end production ready pipeline for data engineering, training, hyper-parameter tuning, re-training, versioning, and serving models under one umbrella like Kubeflow. We will have a quick demo on how to get started with Kubeflow to deploy your ML model.

Speaker Bio: Mohamed Elsaied is a Machine Learning Engineer, Lead. At GroupBy, a startup based in Toronto which transforms the way retailers interact with their consumers online through data-driven commerce, media, and knowledge management software solutions.

Talk 2 - Kubeflow Update by Josh Bottum:
As demonstrated by the thousands of attendees in the (14) Kubeflow sessions at KubeCon San Diego, Kubeflow continues to be the leading Kubernetes-based, open source project for machine learning. In this talk, Mr. Bottum will review the Kubeflow Community and examine ML use cases from market leaders. He will discuss the features in the latest Kubeflow release and provide a quick Kubeflow workflow demonstration.

Bio: Josh Bottum is a Kubeflow Community Product Manager. His Community responsibilities include assisting users to quantify Kubeflow business value, develop customer user journeys (CUJs), triage incoming user issues, prioritize feature delivery, write release announcements and deliver presentations and demonstrations of Kubeflow. Mr. Bottum is also a VP of Arrikto. Arrikto simplifies storage operations for stateful Kubernetes applications by enabling efficient local storage architectures with data durability. Arrikto is a core code contributor to Kubeflow.

After the meetup, we will reconvene at a bar for further discussions. This month we will go to The Russia House at 307 E 5th St, Austin, TX 78701.
