For our July meetup, we welcome an out-of-town guest, Hussain Sultan. He's spent a number of years developing Python-based production services at a major financial-sector company, and he'll be doing a somewhat informal talk about the travails and challenges of getting Python going at a large company that is heavily invested in Java or .NET technologies. Apparently the question of whether or not he'll take Q&A depends on how good of a scotch I bring to the event (and how generously I pour for him)....

As usual, we'll also have time for some lightning talks. I'll repeat my encouragement from last month, in asking that those who've never presented before, or who may be new to the Python community and language, think about taking a few minutes to share their technical perspective or show off some cool stuff and tell us why they're excited about Python.

Our pizza and beer tonight is sponsored by Maxpoint, a marketing technology company that generates hyperlocal intelligence to optimize brand and retail performance. Their platform lets brands connect the digital world with the physical world through hyperlocal execution, measurement, and consumer insights. Maxpoint is currently looking for Software Engineers and Principle Software Engineers to join their team! If you are interested, please contact Ashley Griffiths (Ashley.Griffiths@maxpoint.com).

As always, we are deeply grateful to Atlassian and to Capital Factory for providing the venue and logistical support! If you decide to park at the Omni, please go up to the Capital Factory on the 16th floor to get parking validation!
