For those who attended WordCamp Austin and want to get more involved in the WordPress Project, or those who missed it but still want to pitch in, we are hosting a second Contributor Day here in Austin.

WordPress is open source software, and relies on volunteers within the WP community to work together to make it better. That can be in the form of contributing code patches to the core software, assisting users in support forums, writing new documentation or improving the existing docs, contributing new themes and plugins to the WordPress repository, working on accessibility, and so much more.

To contribute, all you really need is a laptop and a few hours to help out. Previous experience is not necessary. There are important things you contribute even if you don't know any code or even if you're new to WordPress!

At this Contributor Day, we will start out the day exploring the different ways you can participate, and then will break into groups interested in working on different projects. If you have your own ideas, we welcome those as well. You can also work on areas that are new to you, which is a great way to learn!

The day's event will take place over the entire afternoon, but even if you can only donate a couple of hours, we'd love to see you. You can learn more about different ways you can contribute at http://make.wordpress.org/

WP Engine (http://wpengine.com/) is graciously co-sponsoring this event and will be providing not only the venue for the day, but also pizza and beverages for participants.
