How to Build an Effective Content Creation Strategy

Austin WordPress Beginner classes continue our“Back to WordPress Basics” series. For many, content development is one of the road blocks they face when building their WordPress site.  Some folks worry about how to organize their content in categories, some fret about how to use tags, linking strategies mystifies others.

This WPATX Beginner’s presentation will focus on the tools and processes available to help you develop and implement a winning content creation strategy. After making all the hard choices to design and develop a great looking website every website owner faces the same problem — “feed the beast” syndrome. How do we continually produce steady stream of engaging content for our WordPress site? How often should we update the content on our site’s ‘static’ pages? What can we do to add some dynamic content to our static pages to keep the search spiders coming back? We will discuss both offline and online tools and resources to help you brainstorm topics for your site’s blog, produce great content for your target audience, and ways to use that content to your build your online community.

This presentation will cover the use of categories in content organization, styles of written content that are most effective, curating content, mobile-friendly content formats, and the increasing importance of photos & video content

This session will be led by Nick and Sandi Batik and has been designed for new users of WordPress and those who have been using WordPress a while and would really like to know, How to Build an Effective Content Creation Strategy.

The Organizers of WPATX are very grateful to the West Austin Chamber of Commerce for their continuing Sponsorship of the Austin WordPress Meetup. Their generous support covered the cost of this year's event insurance, which allowed us to keep presenting the WP Beginner's Series at The ABC Campus.

Thanks, Sandi! I'm Morgan with the West Austin Chamber and I was actually able to join you for awhile on Monday. Sorry I had to leave early, but it was a good event and I will attend again and promote to our members!

Thanks so much for doing this meetup. I learned a lot. What's really helpful in these gatherings is the ability to ask questions pertinent to my own situation. Thanks!

If anyone is going to this from downtown or South Austin and is willing to give me a ride, I would be so grateful. I am at 6th and congress now but can ride as far as 35th street north. I do not have time after work to ride home (super south) and get my car and get back up north in time.
