AOG - NeuroDIvergence, Personal Growth and 'What is Equanimity'

Details
This week, we will be exploring the attributes of what we call
Emergent Equanimity (EE).
Last week, our conversation centered on softening β noticing its attributes in both the body and the mind. We reflected on how softening helps reduce clinging, rigidity, and negativism, while opening space for mindfulness, emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, and greater openness to experience.
This week, weβll dive deeper into the specific attributes of equanimity β the qualities that can be practiced and cultivated into genuine personal growth. Emergent Equanimity is not something we force into being; it arises naturally as we nurture certain foundations of temperament, mindfulness, and skill. Over time, as we cultivate and appreciate these dimensions β such as patience, compassion, presence, and perspective β equanimity begins to emerge as an integrated way of being.
Together, weβll ask:
- Which attributes of equanimity are most practically addressable?
- How can a simple 15β30 minute daily practice help embed personal growth skills effectively into everyday life?
- How does openness to experience as a personality trait counter rigidity on the autism spectrum and in broader neurodivergent experiences?
Whether you identify as autistic, live with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), or are curious about neurodivergence and its relationship to mindfulness, equanimity, and personal growth β you are warmly invited to join us.
