Autistic Techies of the NYC Area is the first of hopefully many career-oriented groups we hope to launch over the next several years if possible. Currently Autistic Techies of the NYC Area is a small specialized support and social group for autistic and similarly neurodivergent adults (18+) who work, or aspire to work, in technical fields, including but not limited to engineers, programmers, system administrators, and computer/electronics technicians. Eventually, when we grow big enough, we plan to spawn one or more formally organized professional associations.

At our meetings we discuss both autism-at-work topics (e.g. requesting accommodations, getting along with co-workers) and technical topics (in ways that are meaningful across the various technical fields our group serves).

In our Zulip chatroom, we will use the stream titled "work: Techies". To make that stream appear, post first in in the "NEWCOMERS PLEASE POST HERE!" topic/thread in the "general" stream. You'll then be invited into the "work: Techies" stream when one of us sees your "general" post.
