Talk #1:
Back to the future: User Research as a critical tool for novel design.

User research is the product team's secret weapon for creating great new user experiences, especially when designing novel interactions with new audiences, such as children. We will look at a some of the benefits of these methods, and examples from various projects.

About Shuli:
Shuli Gilutz, Ph.D., specializes in UX research, assessment, and strategy, of interactive environments for children. She works both in industry and academia, teaching, advising, and conducting research, in a variety of user experience settings, as well as a strategic consultant for development and design of children's digital experiences.

Talk #2:
Building a culture of customer-centricity at Autodesk.

This talk is a story of how the community of researchers at Autodesk was born and how we continue to build a culture of customer-centricity within the company. I’ll also share ways that you can help drive customer-centricity in your own teams, at Autodesk or elsewhere.

About ED:
Edward De Guzman leads a team of UX Researchers at Autodesk. Since joining the company, he has supported and consulted with several cloud and mobile product teams including Fusion 360 and BIM 360. More recently he led strategic research for the Autodesk Human Interface Guidelines project and led task forces to advance the practice of UX research across the company. Before joining Autodesk, Edward was a human-computer interaction researcher with a focus on ambient/peripheral displays, tangible user interfaces and ubiquitous computing in the home.
