Let´s talk about software behavior (BDD)

Details

About the Talk:
SCENARIO: Automation Advocates Meetup

GIVEN you want to understand the concept of Behavior Driven Development
WHEN you attend this session
THEN you will know the basics afterward

GIVEN you know BDD as a testing tool
WHEN you attend this session
THEN you will see it´s a lot more than that

Most of us have been there eventually: Inadequate communication in software development projects often means that the product is not implemented in the way the client had imagined at the beginning. Behavior Driven Development (BDD) is getting all stakeholders around the table right from the start and establishing a common understanding of the desired behaviour of the software at an early stage. This results in an executable specification that, in addition to the right product, also delivers automated tests and living documentation.
Sounds great? Or just another one of those agile methods that don't really work in the end?

In this talk we will walk together from the first example to the description of the software to the tested and documented implementation in the code.

About the Speaker:
Katrin Rabow has supported small companies in their day-to-day business as a freelance consultant for about 15 years. In 2015 she began studying business informatics at the Technical University of Darmstadt and finished with a master's degree. Since then she’s been working in various projects, primarily as a business analyst and quality manager.

In addition to her day-to-day business, she frequently speaks at conferences, offers workshops and likes to attend meetups or (non-)conferences on all topics related to software development.
