About the Talk:
Do you want to gain a better understanding into breaking down automation problems into small, feasible, valuable steps?
Do you want to learn more about how to use automation to learn about system behaviour?
Do you want to experience how thinking out loud and working together in pairs and small groups can result in better outcomes?
Then join Ben Dowen and Lisi Hocke as they take on a live automation challenge for your viewing pleasure.
Imagine the scene: as Make Believe Labs are rushing to fulfil their client’s needs and impress them with a proof of concept, quality has taken a back seat! It’s time for Lisi and Ben to try to turn it all around, and add some much needed automation to get things on more stable foundations.
With a backlog full of tasks, and only 60 minutes to do something productive, the challenge will be to make the most of their time together, learning the system and writing code as they go.
They will need all their experience, wit, ingenuity… and access to Google and any other sources of information they can get their hands on! With any luck, the audience might even be willing to give a helping hand, as they will need all the help they can get.
The total webinar will be around 90 minutes, including a short introduction, some self reflection for continuous learning and time for a short Q+A.
