What we’re about
Calling all those music lovers, creative writers, and those who feel more whole when music is involved! Join me for monthly jams, weekly classes and occasional workshops to improve your musicianship and enjoy time with fellow music makers. Led by singer-songwriter and 'ukulele teacher Avery Hill (www.averyhill.studio). Other string instruments welcome any time!

'Ukulele Jam - Portland East Side
Artichoke Community Music, 2007 Southeast Powell Boulevard, Portland, OR, US#### Free and open to all ... Donations gratefully accepted 🙏
‘Ukulele players of all levels are welcome to join us at our jams. It’s a great opportunity to practice informally, take some risks, and enjoy the ukulele community. I encourage participants at each jam to find the challenge(s) that feel right for them, and not worry about what feels out of reach. There’s something to learn from every song and I do my best to help everyone find their connection point to the songs we play.
We play songs that pull from a variety of genres, songwriters, and musical traditions, from folk favorites from The Carter Family to an ukulele adaption of “The Wind Cries Mary”, by Jimi Hendrix. Songbooks are provided. For a preview or to download / print ahead of time, join the newsletter.
#### These jams are free and open to all. I am a strong believer in keeping music and education accessible to everyone, no matter their means. Please join us and know that you are welcome!
That said, teaching and sharing music with others is my livelihood, and your donations help support both my time and efforts as well as those of Artichoke Music, who share their space with us. Those who are able are encouraged to donate whatever they can to keep the music going. Your financial support is deeply appreciated.2 attendees
