Guided Tour@Zurich Airport

Next destination: Zurich Airport😊

Last year we had the opportunity to visit the airport from the outside, this year we will see it from the inside.

This guided tour of the airport allows us to experience a two-hour excursion through Zurich Airport.
The security check takes us to the Airside Center. The architecture was modeled after a grand piano and through the window front we can enjoy the view over the apron. We can follow how planes are docked or are pushed to the airfield.
In the flight-side area, the guide then leads us through the passenger area. In this area of the airport, we can also experience how the Schengen and non-Schengen areas are divided and the tour guide explains exactly how the passenger processes work here.
Next, we take the Skymetro to Dock E. In this dock, we have a view of different aircraft types. They can track how they are docked or observe the pushback, take-offs and landings can also be observed. At Dock E, the highlight awaits us, to experience the events on the apron up close.
The guided tour continues with a visit to the luggage sorting system. At this point, we can follow how baggage is handled for the flight. On over 12km conveyor belt and with impressive speed, luggage is sorted out using the barcode and driven into the right vehicle.
The next stop of the guided tour is the spectator terrace E with a view of the runways (and of the Emirates A380) ,the de-icing square and the nature reserve of the airport. Here again the opportunity is to experience take-offs and landings close and to have the runway system explained in detail.
