Book Selection: We encourage active participation in choosing our reading material. During each meeting, members have the opportunity to suggest and vote on the next book. September Pick: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith

Join AVL Digital Nomads + Veterans Healing Farm for a morning of farm and garden work among the flowers, bees, veggies and herbs!

The Veterans Healing Farm has a mission of enhancing the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of our nation’s Veterans and their families. They mainly accomplish this through agritherapy (organic farming, beekeeping, medicinal herbs). Everything grown on the farm is donated back to the Veteran community.

What to expect: Expect a morning of light farm and garden work. Activities include weeding, harvesting herbs, flowers, and vegetables, removing fence posts, filling holes, moving mulch, etc. Breaks and an easy work pace are encouraged. This is fun and enjoyable gardening in a beautiful setting and many hands make light work! You do not need to be a veteran or be associated with the military in any way to participate. All are welcome.

What to Bring: Long pants, a hat, boots that cover your ankles, gloves, water, and snacks. Sunscreen and bug spray is a good idea, we will be outdoors.
