Volunteer at AVL Sounds Fest

AVL Digital Nomads is supporting two venues at AVL Sounds Fest. This is the Sunday shift, and it's the one with Dr. Dog.
AVL Sounds Fest is Asheville's citywide music festival: August 6–9, more than 240 artists on 17 stages across the city. It's the first year back after Hurricane Helene forced the 2025 hiatus, and a portion of proceeds goes to the WNC Long Haul – Recovery and Resilience Fund.
Hellbender is The Orange Peel's brand-new outdoor venue, and this is its first festival.

Music that day: Tyler Ramsey & Carl Broemel of My Morning Jacket at 2:00, Floating Action at 3:45, and Dr. Dog at 5:30 — their only announced show of 2026, with Asheville-resident frontman Scott McMicken coming home for it.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
Roles are assigned at check-in from the festival's list: Wristband Checker, Ticketing, Venue Ambassador, Merch, Stage Manager, MC, Floater, VIP. Expect most of us on wristbands, ticketing, and ambassador work.
Heads up on this one: Dr. Dog at 5:30 means a heavy arrival wave between roughly 4:30 and 5:30 at a venue that's brand new. That hour is the job. It's also the best hour of the weekend to be standing at that gate.
No experience needed. Full walkthrough before doors.
WEAR AND BRING

• Closed-toe shoes, no exceptions.
• A refillable water bottle. Afternoon shift, direct August sun.
• Sunscreen and a hat. Seriously.
• A light rain layer.
• Photo ID and a charged phone.
