Beer-ded Lady Krewe- Mardi Gras Parade

Alright half‑minds, it’s that time again: Asheville Mardi Gras and this year’s theme is “Life’s a Carnival.” Perfect, because nobody embraces chaos, glitter, and questionable decision‑making quite like hashers.

We’re rolling in as a full brigade of Beer-ded Ladies—the glamorous, unruly gatekeepers of the Carnival of Life. We’re building a tiny, ridiculous fortune ticket booth float, and along the route you’ll be showing off, taking selfies with the crowd and be handing out “fortune” moments like the delightfully unqualified carnies we are.

What you get:

What you need:
Register on Hash Rego (above). Rego covers Bloody Mary bar, Beerd, crafts, and parade supplies. Other than that, Not much. We’re making the beards. You just bring the “lady” part—whatever that means to you. Sequins, slips, boas, busted prom dresses, Dollar Tree glamour, or “I found this in my trunk and it smells fine.”

Kids welcome!
If your offspring want to join the fun, they’re welcome to walk with us. They can wave, toss beads/candy, hand out tickets, or just enjoy the spectacle being a little weirdo.

What we’re asking:
Show up ready to interact. The whole point is pulling the crowd into the moment. Think:

• Ask a silly question
• Give someone a “fortune ticket” with dramatic flair
• Make up a carnival name for a passerby
• Do a little dance, a little shimmy, a little “what even is happening”
• Shout “WELCOME TO THE CARNIVAL OF LIFE!” with full bearded conviction
• Be creative, be weird, be joyful. This is a co‑created experience. The more we commit, the more Asheville commits right back.
• Grab your costume bits, hydrate, and prepare your best bearded‑lady persona. On! On!

WHERE: Gather at the backyard of 242 Montford Ave
WHEN: Noon, Feb 15th. Gather for bloodies and beards, 1 pm walk/trail to parade line up on Southside Ave.
