Good evening all,

I hope everyone has had a nice week thus far, especially today during this unseasonably warm January day in the Springs.

Meditating in front of the lake this afternoon, I came upon a topic for this weekend’s discussion which I felt is important for all of us as we go on through our day to day lives.

Before I ended up where I am today, I used to find myself so often concerning myself with other people’s opinions. Be it my parents, siblings, friends, co-workers, or even the cashier at the grocery store. Always worrying how others would view me, and in turn avoiding how I view myself.

That subconscious want in one’s self to be accepted by others is one of the pitfalls of the ego. It prevents each of us from realizing the truth: We are enough. Always enough. The desire to be accepted by everyone is just an illusion that our egos draw up. Because at the end of the day, not everyone is going to like us, love us, etc.

And that is okay. Allowing yourself to find the true beauty within, and learning to love yourself. Learning to love exactly where you are, when you are, as you are is when those chains of acceptance can finally be released. And you can walk forward freely in your own skin, in your own unique self. Courageous and fearless.
