This class will introduce the practice of Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep). While not a traditional Buddhist practice, this ancient modality offers profound benefits to the AIT Sangha, supporting deep rest, trauma processing, and a deeper connection with the body's subtle energy forms. The session will begin with a brief introduction before transitioning into the Yoga Nidra practice itself. Please come prepared to lie down comfortably with proper support, including a mat, blankets, warm clothing, and cushioning for the back of your head.

Classes are offered on the ancient basis of Dana, also known as "give from the heart" or "pay what you choose." This allows you to pay according to your heart, and to what you value. Dana can be sent by e-transfer to dana@awakenintoronto.org or by PayPal to https://paypal.me/awakeningintoronto

Instructor Bio: Rasha was introduced to yoga and meditation at an early age and has studied and practiced these spiritual modalities formally for many years. She spent many years on a fire lookout in the Canadian Northern Boreal and Southern Rockies, bringing her yoga asana practice with her on these remote, mountainous adventures while reflecting on her existential journey. The death of her first daughter deepened her search for meaning and she wanted a formal teacher-student relationship, leading her to study with Qapel and Catherine Sensei at the Clear Sky Meditation Center in British Columbia. A chance encounter with Lama Linda further shaped her path, and she now attends weekly Dharma classes and retreats under her guidance.
Rasha continues her yoga asana practice while integrating her training as a Vajrayana Buddhist, finding that the two disciplines deeply complement each other.
