AWE Nite Chicago is a place for developers, creators, investors, founders, corporate decision makers and curious folk to come together to celebrate the activity and devote conviction around building an augmented reality (AR) hub in Chicago.

AWE Nite Chicago is part of AWE, the world's #1 XR event series, which has a reach of over 250,000 professionals all dedicated to the adoption and growth of augmented reality as the next wave of computing. AWE produces conferences dedicated to XR (AR/VR/MR) in the USA, Europe, Asia and Tel Aviv and hosts AWE Nite Meetup events in Toronto, San Francisco, Chicago and New York.

This summer we will be heading back to Emporium Arcade Bar (2363 N Milwaukee Ave near Fullerton) for hanging out, networking, drinks, friends, and arcade games! We hope to see you between 6 and 9pm!

Milwaukee Ave around 6:00pm can get congested, we recommend parking or exiting transportation on Fullerton near Milwaukee and walking the last bit. Parking near Furious Spoon might be a good option.

All Patrons must be 21+ with a physical copy of their photo I.D. ready to present at the door. Photocopies of an I.D. will not be accepted. Emporium does not serve food but is BYOFood.

About the Topic:
Immersive technology is steadily reshaping the modern workplace, bringing once-futuristic ideas into everyday practice across industries. They are leveraged to streamline complex workflows, enhance training, and redefine remote collaboration. Companies can overlay 3D models and instructions directly into their field of view, increasing precision and reducing errors. Efficiency can be boosted in warehouse operations through Augmented Reality. In healthcare and education, immersive simulations allow students and professionals to practice high-stakes scenarios in realistic, risk-free environments.
Remote collaboration is also evolving with tools like holoportation, which uses 3D holograms to create the sensation of physical presence across vast distances. This can enable international teams to share expertise in real time, cutting the need for travel. Companies are also exploring AR's potential for logistics and navigation as well, like testing AR glasses for delivery drivers to improve routing and last-mile efficiency. Meanwhile, the growing convergence of AR and AI promises even more intelligent workplace applications, such as adaptive training platforms and context-aware digital assistants. Though challenges remain – such as cost, data privacy, and scaling – companies that embrace immersive technology now are positioning themselves at the forefront of a workplace transformation where technology enhances human capabilities rather than replace them.

What's The Format:

We will start with informal networking with demonstrations, then host a panel discussion to answer audience questions, and we end with more networking and demonstrations. We keep it simple and informal – this meetup is about you, our members, and not just a soap box for the host, presenters, or our sponsors.
