Precap the Recap of Re:Invent

On the evening before the AWS RE:Cap event we'd like to organize a more informal get-together to shed some light on some subjects that did not make it to a breakout session.

We'll have a couple of scheduled talks by VMware and Easytocloud, and there will be room for ad-hoc five-minute pitches and group discussions. If you'd like to do a short presentation please contact the organizing comittee beforehand or make yourself known before the start of the event.

We'll have pizza's and drinks from 18:00, presentations start from 19:00

Speakers: Erik Meinders and Klaas van der Lugt, Easytocloud

You may know Klaas and Erik already as they've trained about 1000 AWS professionals to date; they've also been featured in the Amazon Web Services Blog.
Erik founded Open Solution Providers over 25 years ago and has been working with cutting edge technology ever since, spreading his knowledge through teaching and consulting whoever needs a smart solution. For the past ten years Erik has been the managing director of Virtual Infra.

Klaas was one of the founding partners of Unix Support Nederland and later founded ISSP to focus on Security.

Erik and Klaas decided to join forces and work under the name Easytocloud. They are both certified AWS instructors and lately have been teaching an AWS course somewhere in Europe almost every week. Between teaching they still manage to find time to advise their customers on cloud solutions.

Erik will demo a combined IOT/Scheduling solution and Klaas has a presentation on Quicksight. Together they'll lead a discussion on use cases using the list of announced new features.

Speaker: Jan-Willem Lammers, VMware

Jan-Willem is a Principal Solutions Architect with VMware. He is a techonologist of all trades doing an odd combination of general and specialist subjects.

JW is a CTO Ambassador, bridging the gap between VMware R&D and the local organization and customers.

After long years of hands-on work and consultancy with Rijnhaave, Digital, Compaq and HP, JW has been working with VMware for over 10 years now.

In his presentation JW will explain VMware's Cross-Cloud strategy, where the AWS partnership has a prominent place.
