About us
This is the Bonn chapter of Amazon Web Services (AWS) User Group which meets on a regular basis in and around Bonn to discuss and exchange ideas and topics from the ecosystem around AWS, their Services, and cloud computing in general.
Networking and socialising is a big part of this group combined with mainly technical talks about different aspects around AWS.
This group is based on the principle that content should primarily come from within the community and for the community. Therefore we welcome everybody, no matter if you just have startet looking into the topic of AWS or are already an experienced practitioner.
AWS User Group Bonn is an independent group; our activities and the opinions expressed here are not representative of Amazon Web Services.
We are always looking for people who would like to share their stories around AWS or could host our group by providing a location where we can meet. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with the organisers.

#17 AWS Community GameDay Europe

We will join ~50 User Groups across Europe for a unique event: an international, synchronized AWS Community GameDay, powered by the European AWS community.
Join us for an intense evening combining learning, collaboration, and competition — get hands-on with AI, security and cloud-native challenges — no slides, no tutorials.
This large-scale, synchronized event is a unique opportunity to test your AWS skills in a fun, engaging, and hands-on environment.Come with a friend, a team, or solo - we’ll form teams of 2 to 4 people on site.
What is an AWS GameDay?
An AWS GameDay is a gamified learning event where participants are challenged to use AWS solutions to solve real-world technical problems as a team. Unlike traditional workshops, GameDays are open-ended and non-prescriptive, giving participants the freedom to explore and think outside the box.Practical information:
- Teams: 2 to 4 players — come with your team or we’ll form one on site
- Equipment: Your trusty laptop (internet connection provided)
- AWS account: Provided on site, no personal account required
- Game duration: Around 2 hour of competition between local and international teams
- Timing: This is a synchronized international event connected via a shared live stream across all participating locations. To ensure a smooth experience, the GameDay will start on time.
Who is this for?
The event is open to anyone with a general knowledge of AWS — no expert level required!Agenda
- 17:30 – 18:00: Arrival & team formation
- 18:00 – 18:20: GameDay introduction on the stream
- 18:20 – 20:30: Game play
- 20:30 – 20:45: European closing ceremony — prizes for the top teams
- 20:45: Local closing
