About This Club
The AWS Cloud Club at the University of Houston is the first AWS-recognized student club in the UH CIS department — part of a global network of 600+ Cloud Clubs worldwide.
We are a student-led community built for UH students who want real, hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services — the cloud platform powering the world’s most used apps, tools, and infrastructure. Members earn AWS credits, work toward certification exam vouchers, and build projects that belong in a portfolio.
This isn’t a lecture series. It’s a community where you build things, meet people, and leave with skills you can actually point to.

What You’ll Explore
Members work with topics including:
• Cloud computing fundamentals and architecture
• AWS core services — compute, storage, networking, and databases
• Security and cybersecurity in the cloud
• AI and machine learning on AWS
• Data and business analytics
• Real-world cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices

What We Do
• Hands-on cloud labs and live AWS console walkthroughs
• Project-based learning you can add to your resume
• AWS certification prep (Cloud Practitioner and beyond)
• Technical workshops and guest speakers from industry
• Collaboration with students across UH and other AWS Cloud Clubs locally & globally
• Access to AWS credits and certification exam vouchers as the club grows

Who Should Join
This club is built for UH students who:
• Are curious about cloud computing or AWS — at any level
• Want careers in software engineering, DevOps, cybersecurity, AI, or data
• Want industry-relevant skills alongside their coursework
• Want to be part of something being built from the ground up
No prior cloud experience required. All majors welcome.
