BUILD YOUR OWN DATA CENTER NETWORK FROM SCRATCH
Details
This session introduces students to the practical foundations of cloud infrastructure by guiding them through the process of building a complete virtual data center network in AWS from scratch. Participants will design and configure a custom Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), create public subnets, configure routing and security rules, deploy a virtual machine using Amazon EC2, and host a live web server accessible from the internet. The session also explores how traditional physical data center concepts—such as network segmentation, firewalls, routing, and virtualization—are implemented in modern cloud environments through Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). By the end of the lab, students will understand how cloud providers like Amazon Web Services virtualize and manage infrastructure at scale while gaining hands-on experience with networking, virtualization, and storage services such as Amazon S3.
