[AWS UG] AWS JAM Session: Compete, Collaborate, and Level Up Together
Details
🚀 Join Us for an AWS Jam — Dallas User Group! 🚀
Come be part of a high-energy, hands-on hackathon-style event designed to grow your AWS cloud skills — while having fun and networking with fellow builders in the Dallas community. AWS Jam is a gamified, team-based learning experience where teams compete to solve real-world cloud challenges across DevOps, Security, and Generative AI.
Whether you're new to AWS or looking to go deeper, this is a unique chance to test your skills, collaborate with others, and learn by doing — all in a friendly, competitive environment.
🧠 What is it?
AWS Jam is a gamified, team-based challenge event. You'll get a temporary AWS sandbox account and solve real-world challenges spanning DevOps, Security, and Gen AI — using services like Amazon Bedrock, AI/ML tools, and open-source frameworks. No slides, no lectures — just building.
🎯 Why this event?
It's an adrenaline-fueled competition that gets you hands-on with AWS while building practical skills. Challenges span multiple domains:
⚙️ DevOps — CI/CD, IaC, config, serverless, and operational troubleshooting scenarios
🔐 Security — real-world security misconfigurations, detection, and remediation
🤖 Gen AI — Amazon Bedrock, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, agentic workflows, and more
All in a low-risk sandbox — a safe place to experiment and learn.
👥 Who should attend?
Developers, architects, data scientists, DevOps engineers, security practitioners — anyone looking to build practical, hands-on AWS skills. No prior experience required — challenges range from foundational to advanced.

Please bring your own laptop — this is a hands-on, build-along event and you'll need it to access your AWS sandbox and work through the challenges with your team.
