Break My App: Kiro for Debugging & Failure Analysis

What happens when your application works perfectly... until it doesn't?

​Break My App is a joint workshop between AWSUG Philippines and AWSUG Davao where participants go beyond using AI to write code and learn how to use Kiro as a debugging and failure-analysis partner.

​Instead of starting with a blank project, teams will be given a working application containing several intentionally hidden bugs and failure scenarios. Their challenge is to investigate what went wrong, reproduce failures, analyze application behavior and logs, identify root causes, and implement reliable fixes using Kiro.

​The workshop moves beyond simple syntax errors and focuses on the debugging skills developers need when dealing with real applications: understanding unfamiliar code, forming and testing hypotheses, tracing failures across components, interpreting logs and error messages, and determining whether a fix actually addresses the underlying problem.

​Teams will also explore how Kiro can help them prevent the same issues from returning by improving tests, validating fixes, and identifying potential regression risks.
