Harsha Thirimanna and Lance(r) Kind will discuss identity management in modern cloud environments. Harsha Thirimanna, Head of Customer Success (US) for IAM at WSO2, brings nearly two decades of experience in Identity and Access Management, backend development, and enterprise integration, helping global enterprises design secure and scalable IAM solutions. Joining him to provide the devops is Lance(r) Kind, an Agile consultant, tech lead, and author known for his work in eXtreme Programming and his Amazon best-selling comic series SCRUM NOIR. Together, they’ll share insights on how identity management drives security, scalability, and agility in today’s cloud-native world.

    Event Description
Every product that has users will need identity management and yet it’s rarely what’s going to differentiate you in the field. So how about getting it done in a quick and painless way so you can spend time on features your customers want to pay for? In this hands-on session, we will walk through how to securely deploy a modern React application, host it on AWS so it seamlessly integrates with WSO2 Asgardeo IAM SaaS for enterprise-grade authentication. As a bonus, we’ll perform devops with Terraform.

This meetup addresses common challenges developers face when implementing secure and efficient login mechanisms in React applications. We’ll explore the full authentication journey—from basic user login flows to advanced capabilities such as:

    • Single Sign-On (SSO)
    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
    • Social Login (Google, GitHub, etc.)
    • Token management & session handling
    • OIDC compliance with best practices
    • Infrastructure provisioning via Terraform

Using the Asgardeo React SDK, attendees will gain practical insights on how to integrate an identity layer effortlessly into their applications, while ensuring scalability, security, and simplicity. Feel free to bring a laptop to follow along or relax and absorb during the meeting. As this talk is open source, you’ll be able to get hands on later with GitHub repos.

    💡 What You Will Learn

    • Deploying a React application on AWS Elastic Beanstalk using Terraform
    • Connecting the app with Asgardeo for authentication
