Beyond the Hype: Measuring AI Impact in Developer Workflows
Abstract:
As organizations scale, both developer support and cloud governance become harder to manage - slowing teams down and increasing operational risk. This session explores how AI is helping address these challenges by improving access to information, reducing manual effort, and enabling faster, more confident decision-making.
More importantly, we’ll focus on measured real workplace impact. Through usage data, outcomes, and developer feedback, we'll show how AI-driven support and governance reduce manual effort, shorten resolution times, strengthen security, and improve operational efficiency without sacrificing control.
About the Speakers:
Leonid Gorelik is a Cloud Engineer on the Cloud Guardrails team, focused on building scalable cloud governance platforms, security controls, and access management solutions across multi-cloud environments. His professional interests include AI integration into CI/CD pipelines, cloud security, access and vulnerability management processes. Outside of work, Leonid enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and karate.
Brantley Morgan is a Software Engineer at Align Technology on the Developer Portal (DEPO) Team. He graduated from North Carolina State University where he studied Computer Science and participated in the CSC Ambassador program. Brantley's interest include web app development, cybersecurity, and AI. In his free time, Brantley enjoys basketball, hiking, and movies.
Brian Beach is the Tech Lead for Kiro at AWS and local here in the Triangle area. With over 25 years of experience as a developer and architect, Brian leads the NextGen Developer Experience team at Amazon Web Services, where he focuses on leveraging infrastructure-as-code, DevOps, and generative AI to boost developer productivity. He holds a Computer Engineering degree from NYU Poly and an MBA from Rutgers Business School, and is the author of "Pro PowerShell for Amazon Web Services" from Apress.
Who Should Attend: This session is designed for anyone curious about how AI is transforming Healthcare Life Sciences and software development. You don't need to be a full-time developer to get value from it.
