The AWS Cloud Club at UC San Diego is excited to support DataHacks 2026, a 36-hour hackathon bringing together 400+ talented students to build innovative solutions powered by modern cloud technology. As cloud infrastructure continues to drive advances in AI, data science, and scalable applications, this event provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience deploying real systems in the cloud.

Participants will have the chance to explore how cloud platforms like AWS enable developers to quickly build, train, and deploy applications at scale. Throughout the hackathon, students can experiment with cloud services for compute, storage, machine learning, and real-time data processing while working alongside peers and mentors from across the tech community.

For many students, DataHacks will be their first experience building a project using production-grade cloud infrastructure. Whether deploying APIs, running machine learning models, or building full-stack applications backed by scalable services, participants will learn how cloud technologies transform ideas into working systems.
From the AWS Cloud Club perspective, DataHacks is about more than just coding, it’s about helping students understand how modern software is built in the real world. By bringing together cloud tools, industry mentors, and ambitious builders, the event creates an environment where students can experiment, learn, and develop the skills needed to build the next generation of cloud-powered applications.
