🚀Join this immersive, hands-on workshop! Led by Fabricio Flores. This session will guide participants through designing and deploying a real-world, event-driven architecture using AWS.

No prior AWS experience is required—this session is built to be incredibly beginner-friendly and easy to follow! You will be guided by our roaming Teaching Assistants every step of the way, all while enjoying free food, drinks, and exclusive AWS swags.

Once we nail the basics, we will level up together, leading everyone through the process of designing and deploying a real-world serverless application architecture from scratch.

🎯 What You Will Learn Through a live build-along format, you’ll gain practical experience with:

• Serverless compute using AWS Lambda.
• Event-driven architecture and system design.
• Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation.
• Messaging and routing with SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.

🕒 What We’ll Actually Do (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM)

• 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM | Phase 1: The "Click-and-Build" Basics
  – We will start by manually building a simple app to see exactly how the cloud works behind the scenes. No magic, just hands-on basics!
• 2:45 PM - 3:15 PM | Phase 2: The "Blueprint" Approach
  – Clicking manually is slow, so we will learn how professionals work. We will use a "blueprint" to automate the boring stuff and let the cloud build the app for us.
• 3:15 PM - 3:30 PM | Coffee Break & Rescue Buffer
  – Grab some free food and take a breather! Meanwhile, our TAs will sweep the room to fix any bugs and ensure absolutely zero students are left behind.
• 3:30 PM - 4:15 PM | Phase 3: The "Smart Router"
  – We will upgrade our app to handle instant requests. Think of it like dropping a package in a smart mailbox that sorts it immediately, so your users never have to wait in line.
• 4:15 PM - 4:45 PM | Phase 4: The "Shock Absorber"
  – What if your app goes viral? We will add a "waiting line" mechanism so your app survives and doesn't crash when millions of users hit it at the exact same time.
• 4:45 PM - 5:15 PM | Phase 5: Safe Cleanup & Wrap-Up
  – We will summarize everything we learned today and end our workshop. You can network with others or our instructors, or simply get some snacks.
