FEATURED SPEAKER:
Timothy Orr,
Cloud Security Architect @ Novetta
Tim Orr designs, builds, and operates secure systems as a Cloud Security Architect for Novetta. He supports federal customers with cloud security automation, serverless architecture, threat detection and incident response, cloud service security analysis, and multi-tenant cloud brokering and governance.

Tim holds a masters degree in InfoSec and holds CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, and Solutions Architect Associate certifications. His teams finished 2nd and 4th in the security capture-the-flag at AWS Re:Inforce and Re:Invent in 2019.

He is excited to share his talk on An Offensive Introduction to AWS!
This session introduces why cloud security is a unique discipline and establishes just enough of a foundation on AWS accounts, architectures, and the services that are most intriguing to attackers. With that foundation established we’ll discuss common attack vectors, many of which require nothing more than the AWS API. We’ll discuss and demonstrate resource reconnaissance, exploitation, privilege escalation, attacker persistence, and pivots.

If you are looking for your next step in your career, we try to make connections happen at these events. There will be an AWS Security Engineer looking for possible future teammates. There are typically other attendees whose company may be hiring as well, and we will dedicate time to this after the talks.

There is no fee to attend this event, and it is open to the public. If you have any suggestions, recommendations, ideas, etc please see one of our organizers before or after the MeetUp, or reach out to us online.
