Come learn how Bustle used a serverless architecture which enabled it to scale to meet 70+ million unique visitors per month while cutting monthly hosting costs by 40%. Steve Faulkner, the former Director of Engineering, will discuss how they designed and built a serverless backend for Bustle’s websites and mobile apps using AWS Lambda and Amazon API Gateway. He will also discuss the open source shep Framework for building and deploying Node.js serverless applications. Steve will also explain how the company is using GraphQL to consolidate multiple legacy systems and the use of graph databases. Bustle.com is a news, entertainment, lifestyle, and fashion website catering to women. Bustle also operates Romper.com, a website focused on motherhood.
