AWS User Group Lausanne - Container Fever

Le jeudi 10 novembre 2022, nous organisons un meetup de partage autour du cloud AWS et notamment les containers dans des locaux gracieusement prêté par Digicomp en face de la gare de Lausanne !!

18:30: Présentation 2 : Making sense of AWS Container Services (René Penkert):
We will evaluate different requirements of applications and compare it with the characteristics of different AWS container services to help you find the best match for your use case. We will also evaluate different computing environments like Amazon EC2, AWS Fargate and AWS Lambda to help you decide if you can run your workloads serverless on AWS.

19:00: Présentation 3 : Running YugabyteDB on AWS EKS (Franck Pachot):
Let’s install YugabyteDB, an open-source PostgreSQL compatible database on Kubernetes. And explain the reasons for it: distribute data to many active nodes, sharded and replicated, in sync, to the region’s data centers for high availability, or geo-distributed to reduce latency for worldwide users. Today, this is possible with distributed SQL databases, bringing powerful SQL and ACID features to the same scalability as the NoSQL datastores.
