Intent Integrity: Securing AI Agents Beyond the CIA Triad
Once AI moves from summarising text to executing code and calling APIs, the old security playbook no longer works. The job is no longer securing an interface but governing autonomous digital workers. This session turns the complexity of the agentic frontier into a first-principles mental model for securing AI agents, going beyond the CIA triad.
🎤 Speaker: Yuecel Karabulut
Paddelbuch – What Happened Next and How Kiro Changed the Game?
At last year’s AWS Community Day, Chris presented the history of paddelbuch.ch, a serverless geospatial information system built on AWS Amplify and Lambda for the Swiss paddle sports community, along with its feature roadmap. Then Kiro arrived. This session covers what happened next, what Kiro made possible, and how one unexpected conversation at re:Invent reshaped Paddelbuch’s technical foundations. Chris will show how Kiro’s spec-driven development model was used to modernise the application with a brownfield-to-greenfield pattern. He’ll also cover how spec-driven development and AI-DLC approaches can deliver major technical change quickly and efficiently.
🎤 Speaker: Chris Bingham
Death by a Thousand Shadows: Caching and Cost-Cutting on AWS IoT Core
Connecting a device to AWS IoT Core is easy. Running fleets at scale without bills and latency spiralling takes real craft. This session is a playbook from a backend that cut repeated shadow reads without a caching service like Redis. It covers cache-aside patterns with DynamoDB, warm Lambda execution environments and request-scoped payload reuse. It also unpacks what drives IoT Core costs, including shadow operations, MQTT message size, and how one shadow document can be billed as four messages, along with ways to avoid that. You’ll leave with production-ready patterns, their trade-offs and a calculator mindset for your own IoT systems.
🎤 Speaker: Matia Rašetina
Funny Encounters with DynamoDB for Vibe Coders
DynamoDB demands a real change of mindset for anyone used to SQL, and its classic traps are easy to fall into. With more code now written by AI, blind spots such as missing pagination loops, absent database-level locks and costly table scans regularly get past code review and into production. In Chandradeo’s case, AI-generated deployments led to bizarre production behaviour, including a bot attack that drove a critical wallet balance towards negative infinity because an atomic condition expression was missing. He’ll break down these “funny” but alarming bugs, covering the 1 MB pagination trap, consistency confusion, and how to use atomic operations and conditional expressions correctly. You’ll leave with a practical blueprint for auditing AI-written code and keeping live tables resilient, fast and safe.
🎤 Speaker: Chandradeo Arya
