Build, Break and Deploy with Kiro - Kiro Nights
Details
Generative AI coding tools can get you from idea to prototype in minutes. Getting from prototype to something reliable and deployed is where the real engineering begins.
In this hands-on session, we'll explore Kiro, the AI-powered IDE from AWS, and see how it changes the way developers and cloud engineers build software. We'll build something real, break it on purpose, fix it with an AI agent, and deploy it to AWS.
What to Expect
👻 A practical introduction to Kiro and how it fits into your development workflow
🏗️ Building applications with spec-driven development, from idea to requirements to working code
💥 Breaking things on purpose, then debugging and fixing them with AI assistance
⚙️ Using agent hooks, steering files, and other Kiro features to keep AI output consistent and on target
🚀 Deploying what we build to AWS
🧠 Honest lessons on where AI-assisted development helps and where you still need to drive
🤝 Networking and community learning with AWS builders, AI/ML practitioners, cloud engineers, and enthusiasts
Who Should Attend
- Developers curious about AI-assisted and agentic coding
- Cloud and DevOps engineers working with AWS
- AI/ML practitioners exploring how AI tools fit into real engineering workflows
- Students and early-career technologists who want to build faster and smarter
- Anyone looking to go from "vibe coding" to production-ready applications
Why This Matters
AI coding tools are everywhere, but speed without structure leads to fragile code, security gaps, and projects that never ship. Understanding how to guide an AI agent with clear specs, review its work, and deploy confidently is quickly becoming a core skill for every builder.
This session will give you practical patterns for building, breaking, and deploying with Kiro, so you can move from experimentation to real-world delivery.
