In this (semi) interactive session, Thanasis Daglis will walk us through a real-world scenario where we'll attempt to design and build a service to meet demanding scaling and cost requirements. Together, we’ll explore multiple AWS architecture options (some clever, some terrible), experiment, learn how to balance trade-offs in scaling, cost, and complexity, and work our way toward a solution that checks all the boxes.

🎤 Meet Our Speakers
Lefteris is a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services with 20 years of experience in software engineering. He is the author of the book "Mastering Event-Driven Microservices in AWS" and runs a weekly newsletter, "The Cloud Engineers," where he shares insightful articles on cloud computing. Passionate about sharing his knowledge, Lefteris is a public speaker and frequently speaks at technical conferences such as AWS re:Invent, AWS Summits, Devoxx, and Disrupt AI Summit.

Lefteris has also served as an AWS Tech Instructor, training more than 200 individuals on AWS. Additionally, he co-founded a startup where he built the entire platform using serverless technology on AWS in 10 months with zero development costs, earning 10K credits for the innovative platform. Finally, Lefteris is a mentor in the areas of technology and software development, as well as personal branding and career development.

Thanasis is a software engineer focusing on DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, and cloud architecture, currently a founding Engineer at Intryc. He has been exploring the startup world since 2010, enjoys knowledge/experience sharing events, and interacting with the community. With a passion for developer experience, automation, and enablement, he helps teams build and ship faster on AWS.
