Using Apache HBase on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Simple Storage Service (S3)

Jon and Phong will discuss their experience migrating from Cloudera Hadoop to AWS EMR HBase backed by S3. Their investigation and reviews had to balance cost and security while maintaining a highly performant and stable environment.

Speaker Bios:
Jon Geho (Verizon Media) is a Senior Software Development Engineer on the Advertising Targeting & Identity team. He has extensive experience designing and developing large scale data solutions to support complex workloads.

Phong Nguyen (Verizon Media) is a Principal Production Engineer supporting highly scalable Production architectures in hybrid (on-prem/AWS) environments.
