Title: Unleashing Efficiency: Automating Complex Deployment Processes with Airflow
Abstract: In today's fast-paced technological landscape, automation stands as a beacon of efficiency and reliability, especially within deployment processes that are critical to business operations. This presentation will journey through a real-life scenario where automation was not just a choice but a necessity to streamline a cumbersome deployment process involving multiple teams and technologies. The project centered around automating a critical company deployment process. This undertaking faced multiple challenges, including cross-functional team collaboration, integrating AWS services with Airflow, navigating security constraints, and managing unexpected delays due to on-call duties. Through strategic planning, leveraging existing resources, and adapting to unforeseen hurdles, the project significantly reduced manual labor and consolidated effort points, demonstrating the power of automation in enhancing operational efficiency.

Second talk
Title: Kubernetes management the GitOps way: Manage Cloud Native apps with ArgoCD
Abstract: Why are declarative methods of cloud management still so imperative? When deploying Cloud Native applications in Kubernetes environments such as EKS clusters, the complexity often lies in managing the infrastructure and multiple Helm chats, including templating and customization. Also, the upkeep of complex Kubernetes manifests can become quite time-consuming and repetitive. While GitOps offers a promising alternative to other continuous delivery approaches, lifecycle management of your cloud-native applications is still far from ideal. Having to take manual action every time an upgrade or change is made, is simply a time-consuming and error-prone process. Imagine deploying an application by simply creating a repository with pre-configured Cloud Native tools, connected to ArgoCD allowing for seamless updates and extensive customization. This abstract proposes a discussion around simplifying the deployment process and reducing the need for manual intervention in managing applications in Kubernetes environments using existing open-source projects abstracting the need to template helm charts directly or to fiddle with Kubernetes manifests at all.
