Title: Trino & Starburst in the AI Era: When to Choose Enterprise vs. Galaxy
Abstract: Trino gives you fast SQL across lakes, warehouses, and databases without moving data. Starburst turns Trino into a production-grade platform in two ways: Starburst Enterprise (self-managed) and Starburst Galaxy (fully managed).
In this session, we’ll show how both are used today not only for analytics, but also for AI workloads — including generating embeddings in Iceberg, vector search at query-time, and building RAG-style pipelines directly in SQL. We’ll compare where SEP vs. Galaxy fit best for governance, performance, and AI integration, and provide clear guidance on how to decide between them for real workloads.
