/Automate. Serverless and event-driven approach to DevOps
In today’s fast-paced development environments, reducing manual tasks is crucial for productivity and developer experience.
In today’s fast-paced development environments, reducing manual tasks is crucial for productivity and developer experience.
This talk will explore how a fintech market leader in Sweden created a serverless and event-driven integration with Slack on AWS. Creating a solution to automate tasks across a multi-account setup. Learn how this journey optimized cost, enhanced productivity, and security by eliminating repetitive tasks by minimizing human error. A key aspect was integrating alarms and notifications directly into Slack, enabling developers to take immediate action on system alerts. We will look at the problems, deep dive into the implementation, and the challenges we faced. Join us to gain valuable insights and practical tips for transforming your workflows.
You will learn how we integrated our DevOps way of working and tooling with Slack to automate tasks, boosting productivity, creating a better developer experience, and at the same time reducing cost.Speaker: Jimmy Dahlqvist - AWS Serverless Hero and AWS Ambassador, Head of AWS @ Sigma Technology Cloud
Our AWS UG organizer is a developer and architect passionate about the Cloud in general and AWS in particular. Jimmy has been working in tech since 2003 and transitioned into cloud and AWS in 2015. He has since then been a true AWS evangelist, leading to his recognition as an AWS Serverless Hero and AWS Ambassador. He was named the #1 Top Ambassador in EMEA by AWS in 2023.
His greatest passion lies in serverless technologies, and he loves to share his knowledge with others and thinks it's really rewarding to see people grow. Every moment of his spare time, he spends coding and testing new things, blogging about it on jimmydqv.com/
He started serverless-handbook.com as the home base of all his serverless adventures.Talk 2
Breaking limbs and systems: A black belt story on learning
Break everything is the cool catchphrase for Chaos Engineering. In this session, we will learn about Chaos Engineering and the mindset product teams should have when building. The mindset can be applied to anything, and jiu-jitsu will be used as one such example. We will also learn how our mindset improves over time, just as the skills of a martial arts practitioner.
Following the path from white belt to black belt, we will look into how Chaos engineering can be applied when building systems and look at some examples using AWS Fault Injection Service, similar to Netflix Chaos Monkey. And since it's 2025, we will utilise Amazon Q for some Gen AI assistance.
This talk is primarily aimed at technical staff working in a cloud-enabled workspace, but the principles can be used in every environment, and the mindset is relevant to everyone.Speaker: Marcus Bladh - AWS Community Builder and DevOps Evangelist at Knowit Core
Marcus is an AWS enthusiast passionate about learning and sharing knowledge. He is also the longest-serving leader of our AWS User Group and an AWS community Builder.
Working as a DevOps engineer for a while, he is very interested in finding ways to improve both the technical parts of the system and the organisation that builds it.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Neapolitan-style pizza, and video games are great topics if you want to distract him!🎟️ RSVP
There are a limited number of seats, so please keep your RSVP up to date so that if you can't make it, someone else will have the opportunity to come.A special thank you to our sponsor
