AWS Aurora Platform Overview

Details
Come to the AWS OTP North User Group's November meeting to learn all about the AWS Aurora Platform. This is going to be a great session y'all!
Break free from old guard databases with Amazon Aurora
Organizations are looking to free themselves from the constraints of old guard databases, such as Oracle and SQL Server, and leverage the power of managed databases in the cloud. Amazon Aurora is a fully managed relational database that runs on Amazon RDS and offers versions that are compatible with MySQL and PostgreSQL. Aurora provides the speed, reliability, and availability of commercial databases at a lower cost and is faster than standard MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. In this session, we provide an overview of Aurora and explore recently announced features, such as serverless, multi-master, and performance insights. We also discuss what you need to get started with Aurora.
Our speaker will Steve Abraham who is a Principal Data Architect on the Aurora MySQL service team. He has spent more than 20 years in the IT industry in various roles including software engineer, DBA and award winning startup entrepreneur. Steve started with AWS more than 5 years ago as a solutions architect providing customer guidance across the entire AWS platform before joining the Aurora service team to help customers dive deep on Aurora.
