1. "Event Driven Serverless Microservices" by Gareth Mc Cumskey, Serverless inc.

Abstract:

A design pattern for building Serverless applications as a collection of microservices that provides flexibility, modularity and performance. By combining the strengths of microservices while simultaneously removing the infrastructure burden downside of them with Serverless, we get the best of both worlds combined together beautifully.

Speaker Bio: Gareth Mc Cumskey has been a web developer for over 20 years. After cutting his teeth with multiple teams across South Africa, he was introduced to Serverless in 2016 and since then has built or been involved in multiple Serverless applications. In 2019, he was asked to make his passion for assisting the Serverless community full time and joined the team Serverless, Inc where he now spends his time answering questions, creating content, assisting users and spreading the word of Serverless as much as he can.

2. "More with Less on Serverless" by Sindhoora Ramesh, software development manager at Azuga Telematics

Abstract:

Building enterprise products from scratch is a complex and challenging process. It involves weaving all aspects of business, product, technology, people and processes to create value. Engineering practices must evolve to deliver high quality output in a short span of time to be able to penetrate the market and iterate development over the feedback loops. In the Serverless Saturday session, I would like to share the Azuga product story of moving past Devops and Containerisation and embracing Serverless to build enterprise software. An engineering manager’s view on how we adapted and achieved operational efficiency, Increased developer productivity, decreased downtime/quality software in the face of continuously changing requirements and delivery speed gain with shortened release cycles.

Speaker Bio: Hi, I am Sindhoora Ramesh. I have 12 years of experience in building enterprise SaaS applications and taking them live with excellent adoption and minimal issues. I love solving business problems with technology. As Software development manager at Azuga Telematics, I am currently working on bootstrapping a new product line, a B2B SaaS application for Field Services on Serverless Architecture.
