Tech Talks: From Napkin Sketch to Production

Tech Talks: From Napkin Sketch to Production | Meetup #4
Do you have an idea for a product, an app, or a side project but aren't sure where to start or how much it will cost? This evening is for you. 💡
Join AWS Women's User Group Sweden in Linköping for an in-person evening for women and allies who want to turn their ideas into real, working products in the cloud. You don't need to be a seasoned cloud architect. Whether you're a developer, a founder-to-be, a career changer, or simply curious, you'll leave with a clear picture of how to get started.
The evening has two talks, both from founders of this community. First, Martina Della Corte covers the essentials of getting started safely: setting up your account, avoiding common pitfalls, and keeping a close eye on costs. Then Caroline Cah introduces AI agents in practice with Pizza Bot, AWS's open-source project for running agents in the background.
Come with your ideas, your questions, and your curiosity. Stay for the community. 💜

Talk 1: Don't Rebuild Later: Getting AWS Right from the Start
This talk gives you the foundation to start with confidence.
We'll walk through creating an AWS account the right way and the things you should do right away to secure it. You'll learn how to track and control your spending with tools like budgets, alerts, and the Free Tier, so there are no surprises at the end of the month. We'll also cover best practices that will serve you from your first experiment to your first production workload, and the common mistakes beginners make (and how to avoid them).
You'll leave with a practical checklist you can follow the same evening, so you can start building safely, cheaply, and with a solid base to grow on.
Speaker: Martina Della Corte - Cloud Architect & Product Owner at K3 Nordic | AWS Community Builder | AWS User Group Leader
With a foundation as a Software Engineer, Martina has grown into a Cloud Architect, building her AWS expertise over more than six years. She is an AWS Community Builder in the Serverless category, an AWS User Group leader in Sweden, and one of the founders of AWS Women's User Group Sweden. She is passionate about fostering community, sharing knowledge, and building innovative cloud solutions.
Talk 2: Building an agentic workflow manager on Pizza Bot with AWS
A practical introduction to agentic AI, background agents, and serverless architecture.
Now that we have our AWS foundation for scaling efficiently in the long term, let's explore and learn about AI agents and AWS's open-source Pizza Bot.
Caroline will introduce these ideas in practical terms and show how to use Pizza Bot, AWS's open-source, community-driven project that works like an inbox for AI agents running in the background. Pizza Bot supports Amazon Bedrock alongside other model providers and is built with open-source tools (DeepAgents, LangGraph, and MCP). If those names are new to you, that's fine. You'll see what each one does and how they fit together on a serverless architecture.
Speaker: Caroline Cah - Digital Lead at Wallenius Wilhelmsen | AWS Community Builder | AWS User Group Leader
Caroline is Digital Lead at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. Before that, she was Product Owner for public cloud platform services at Aurobay and a Software Engineer at Polestar, where she built the backend and integrations for Polestar.com using microservices, serverless, and event-driven patterns. At Polestar, she also led the Software Engineers Competence Group, inviting speakers and creating space for developers to learn from each other. She is an AWS Community Builder and one of the founders of AWS Women's User Group Sweden.
